Jack White has signed a contract extension with Northamptonshire which will keep him at Wantage Road until 2024.

The 30-year-old pace bowler joined the club in 2020 and has since made 17 appearances in first-class and List A cricket.

In red-ball cricket, he has taken 24 runs at 31.12 in 10 outings, most recently picking up 4 for 22 against Warwickshire.

With the white ball, he impressed in last season’s Royal London Cup, collecting 10 wickets in seven outings and conceding 5.11 runs per over.

Commenting on his contract extension, the former Cheshire and Cumberland bowler said: "I’m delighted to have signed for another couple of years. I feel like I’m in a really good place with my cricket, so hopefully I can contribute to some success for Northamptonshire in the near future."

Bowling coach Chris Liddle added: "Jack’s a hard worker, he’s a great bloke to have around. The skillset he has as a bowler is exciting.

"His red-ball skills and the way he has bought into developing those skills over the last couple of winters has been great and he’s starting to see the rewards of that.

"You can’t rely on just one or two bowlers to play every single game. We’re trying to build a squad of bowlers so that we can bring people into games and they’ll be able to lead that attack and put in performances for us.

"Jack’s proven that he can do that, he’s shown over the last two matches especially on flat wickets that he’s got wicket taking options and he can bowl for the scoreboard as well."
