The Australian allrounder was signed to replace Suranga Lakmal until September but his spell has been ended prematurely
Hayden Kerr will leave Derbyshire after suffering a side strain.
The Australian had been a near ever-present for Falcons during their run to the T20 Blast quarter-finals.
But he missed the record-breaking 191-run defeat to Somerset as Mickey Arthur's side missed out on a second Finals Day appearance.
"Hayden goes home on Tuesday (July 12), he has a side strain and is out for eight weeks," said Arthur in his post-match press conference.
"We're a very, very small and thin squad and when you keep getting injuries.

"I don't know how much more we can drive this group to keep going."
Kerr arrived in May as an injury replacement for Suranga Lakmal, whose own spell had to be cut short by an elbow problem.
He played 13 Blast matches and a single LV= Insurance County Championship game, taking 18 wickets.
Injuries have once again hit Derbyshire this summer, with Luis Reece and Ben Aitchison having also spells out, while Shan Masood is currently absent after being called up by Pakistan for the Sri Lanka Tests.
