Scott, 26, has hardly featured for Gloucestershire this season
Gloucestershire allrounder George Scott has joined Somerset on loan for the last two games of the county's Royal London Cup campaign.
The 26-year-old has hardly featured for his parent club this season and has only played 32 times for Gloucestershire since moving from Middlesex ahead of the 2020 season.
While several counties have been affected by player losses to The Hundred, few have been left more depleted than Somerset, who have fielded youthful teams throughout the Royal London Cup and have lost all six games so far.
"Opportunities for first-team cricket have been limited for George this season and we feel he will benefit from the chance to play for Somerset during the remaining Royal London Cup fixtures," said Steve Snell, Gloucestershire's performance director.

Scott's chances of regular first-team cricket at Gloucestershire might improve in 2023, with the impending departures of fellow allrounders Benny Howell and Ryan Higgins.
In four County Championship appearances this summer, Scott has scored 160 runs at an average of 33 and a high score of 77, while he featured just once in the T20 Blast.
