Gloucestershire have signed Glenn Phillips for a second T20 Blast stint with the county.

The New Zealander impressed in 2021, making 500 runs in just 12 innings, including consecutive scores of 94.

He is set to be available for the entirety of the tournament and is the fourth overseas player signed up by the club across formats in 2022, joining Naseem Shah, Zafar Gohar and Marcus Harris.

"Glenn is a huge talent and was one of the best players in the Vitality Blast last year, so we're delighted to have him back again this season," said Dale Benkenstein, the county's new head coach.

"We have ambitions of competing for titles and that includes the T20 Vitality Blast. Glenn offers us a fantastic option at the top of the order and I'm sure our supporters are just as excited to see him bat this summer as the coaching team are.

"His addition, with his pedigree and experience, to an already strong white-ball side gives us a great chance of going toe-to-toe with every opposition we come up against."

Phillips, who has represented New Zealand 35 times in T20Is, is currently on duty in the Indian Premier League with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is due to arrive in Bristol at the end of May.

He joins a Gloucestershire side that reached T20 Finals Day in 2020 and narrowly missed out on qualification for the knockout stages in 2021.
