Fateh Singh has signed a two-year contract extension with Nottinghamshire, which will keep him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2025 season.

The talented allrounder impressed in the 2nd XI Championship in 2022, scoring 312 runs and taking 11 wickets.

The 18-year-old also featured nine times for the first team in the Royal London Cup, picking up nine wickets with an economy of 6.94 and scoring 107 runs. He showcased his power-hitting ability in a 22-ball 45 against Middlesex.

A product of the club's academy, Singh made his senior debut aged 17 and has made 12 List A appearances. He has also featured 11 times for England Under-19s.

On his new contract, Singh said: "I feel like my development has accelerated over the last two years, and that's from being in and around a professional set up, learning a lot, and giving my all to the game.

"I feel fortunate to have the backing of everyone at the club, and to be able to focus fully on cricket for the next few years.

"Having been with Notts all the way through the pathway, it has always been my ambition to break into the senior teams here. I got a taste of that in the past two summers, so I feel like I belong, and I have confidence that I can help Notts win games when I am given the opportunity.

"Now that I've left school, my aim is to play this game professionally for as long as possible, and there is no place I want to do that more than at Trent Bridge."

Nottinghamshire head coach, Peter Moores, added: "What we see from Fateh already is a confidence in his own ability combined with a drive to improve and be his best, and that's a great spot to be in as a young cricketer.

"When I look back on some of his Royal London Cup innings, the belief he had in his game to play expansively in situations where he could easily have gone into his shell, was really impressive. He also possesses a real cricket intelligence both with bat and ball which belies his age - he shows great maturity in that respect.

"He has benefitted from being on the staff, as is natural for a young man who has gone from combining cricket with his studies to focussing fully on his sport.

"And that transition will see him develop more and more over the coming years, and we're excited to see how far he can go."
