Kent have offered a new contract to experienced allrounder Darren Stevens.
Stevens, 44, is currently on a one-year deal with the Canterbury club. He has claimed 16 wickets at an average just above 21 in the Bob Willis Trophy this season.
In July last year it was announced that the veteran would be leaving Kent at the end of the 2019 county summer but a series of impressive performances in the County Championship in the latter stages of the campaign forced the club's management into a change of heart.
And now, they have given Stevens the chance to play on past his 45th birthday.
Head coach Matt Walker told BBC Radio Kent: “We have offered him terms for next season.
“He keeps performing, he’s an experienced head and is still a very fine bowler.
“I think he wants to carry on for a few more years yet.”
