The Cricketer wraps up the best of the action during day four of round three of the Vitality County Championship in 2024
Southampton (day four of four): Warwickshire 455 & 205-4, Hampshire 365 - match drawn
Rob Yates made sure all of Warwickshire's top three average over 100 after the first three Vitality County Championship fixtures – but his unbeaten 84 couldn’t prevent an inevitable draw with Hampshire.
Yates, opening partner Alex Davies and No.3 Will Rhodes are three of the top four run scorers in Division One so far this season with averages of 123, 120, and 116.
All three attempted to up the run rate in a bid to force a result at Utilita Bowl but eventually, rain won the day and the points were shared.
Warwickshire pick up 13 points to Hampshire's 10 – with neither side yet to win or lose a game after three rounds.

Canterbury (day four of four): Kent 244 & 262, Surrey 543-7d - Surrey won by an innings and 37 runs
Surrey have beaten Kent by an innings and 37 runs in the County Championship at Canterbury.
The reigning champions dismissed the hosts for 262 in their second innings, with Dan Worrall taking 4 for 31 and Cameron Steel, claiming 3 for 38. Steel remains the leading wicket-taker in the country this season, with 20 after three matches.
Joey Evison made 53 and Matt Parkinson hit his highest first-class score of 39, but after a dogged rearguard action that saw them through the morning session, Kent subsided midway through the afternoon.
The hosts were 120 for 5 overnight, still 179 runs in arrears, and their slim hopes of batting out the day were dealt a near fatal blow when Ben Compton was out in the fifth over of the morning.

Taunton (day four of four): Nottinghamshire 193 & 440-2, Somerset 454 - match drawn
Joe Clarke and Will Young were denied the chance of a 400 partnership when heavy rain washed out most of the final day of Nottinghamshire's County Championship First Division match with Somerset at Taunton.
Only nine overs were possible at the start of the morning session, which began with the visitors 418 for 2 in their second innings, leading by 157 runs.
Having already broken a Notts record for a third-wicket stand, which had stood since 1903, Clarke and Young added 22 runs, taking the total to 440 before the rain set in at 11.40pm with their partnership extended to 392.
No further play was possible before umpires Russell Warren and David Millns abandoned the game at the conclusion of a 1pm lunch period. Clarke was left unbeaten on 213 and Young on 174 as Somerset took 15 points from the draw and Notts 10.
