The New Zealand allrounder replaces the stricken Kemar Roach, whose hamstring injury cut short his spell at The Oval
Surrey have signed up Colin de Grandhomme for three LV= Insurance County Championship matches.
The New Zealand allrounder could make his debut against Gloucestershire this week and is also available to face Northamptonshire and Kent next month.
De Grandhomme's arrival comes after Kemar Roach's spell at The Oval was cut short due to a hamstring injury.
Across a 10-year international career, the Zimbabwean has played 28 Tests, 45 one-day internationals and 41 T20Is for the Black Caps.
After two summers at Warwickshire in 2017 and 2018, the 35-year-old had a spell at Hampshire last summer and featured for eventual men's Hundred champions Southern Brave as a late replacement for Andre Russell.

He featured in two Championship matches, recording a first-class best score of 174 not out against Surrey at The Ageas Bowl.
"I am looking forward to getting over to the UK, joining the Surrey lads and getting stuck in for a few County Championship games," he said.
Director of cricket Alec Stewart added: "Following the injury to Kemar [Roach] we are pleased to have secured Colin’s services for the next three four-day games.
"He already has good experience of the county game and will add to the quality and balance of the team."
Surrey are the early pacesetters in Division One after two wins and a draw from their opening three games as they pursue their first title since 2018.
