Experienced Australian batter Daniel Hughes has also signed for part of the 2024 campaign at Hove
Sussex have completed their overseas complement for 2024, with the signings of Cheteshwar Pujara and Daniel Hughes.
The experienced batters join seamers Jayden Seales and Nathan McAndrew at Hove, with India great Pujara returning to Hove for a third straight summer.
Pujara, whose record in county cricket for Sussex is particularly remarkable, has re-signed for the first seven games of the County Championship campaign, which will see him link up with West Indies quick Seales, who has agreed a deal through to June 8.
Hughes, the experienced New South Wales left-hander, has signed from the start of the T20 Blast and will slot in alongside McAndrew thereafter. He is available for the Blast and the County Championship.

Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace has decided, though, not to involve his overseas players in the One-Day Cup, which has been used by several counties as an opportunity to blood young talent. Sussex reached the semi-finals in 2022 but didn't get out of their group last season.
The arrivals of Pujara and Hughes come at an important juncture, following a turbulent off-season that has seen the departure of talented opener Ali Orr to Hampshire.
Pujara averages 79.22 for Sussex in first-class cricket, with eight hundreds in 16 appearances, while Hughes, who opens the batting in the Sheffield Shield, averages almost 37 in first-class cricket and upwards of 58 in the List A game. He made an unbeaten half century in his first Big Bash outing of the season on Monday.
