Will Rhodes has committed to Warwickshire until the end of the 2024 season.

The 27-year-old, whose existing deal ran until the end of the year, has topped up his stay by another 12 months.

Rhodes has been an ever-present for Warwickshire in first-class cricket since his debut in 2018, playing 63 times in the longer format.

He has 62 outings in white-ball cricket for the Bears, scoring 1,416 runs and taking 42 wickets.

There can be little doubt about his crowning achievement at Edgbaston when he led the team to the County Championship title in 2021.

But last term's defence didn't go to plan, with Warwickshire requiring final-day heroics from Liam Norwell to avoid relegation to Division Two.

"I'm delighted to have extended my stay at Warwickshire – a club which I have made my home since arriving," said Rhodes. "I am extremely proud to lead this club and I will always represent the Bear & Ragged Staff with great distinction.

"Last year didn't reach our expectations, but I must praise the attitude and spirit of the team to dig in and deliver such a dramatic finale.

Head coach Mark Robinson added: "Will relishes leading the Bears and he's a fantastic servant to the club.

"Still young, Will has the opportunity to build on his career so far and the potential to lead Warwickshire for many years to come.

"He has been an  ever-present fixture in the Championship team and I'm sure he'll be looking to guide this great club to more silverware in the near future."
