Durham have added Warwickshire allrounder Alex Thomson to their squad on a loan deal for the first two months of the season.
The 27-year-old will be available for the first seven rounds of the County Championship.
He could make his Durham debut in the season opener against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge on April 8.
A meeting with parent club Warwickshire at Chester-le-Street looms on April 29.
Thomson has made 14 first-class, nine List A and 11 T20 appearances since his debut in 2014.
After a spell with Cardiff MCCU, he moved to Edgbaston in 2017 where he has developed as an off-spinning allrounder.
Warwickshire, who signed Danny Briggs from Sussex during the off-season, plan to re-introduce Thomson to their white-ball teams when the T20 Blast and One-Day Cup get underway in June and July.
Director of cricket Paul Farbrace said: "This loan move gives Alex an excellent opportunity at Durham to play some competitive games and to continue his development at Durham after starting all five first-class fixtures last year. We will certainly be closely monitoring his progress."
