The Roses clash in the LV= Insurance County Championship is set to be the stage for Adam Lyth's 200th first-class appearance.
The Yorkshire opener will bring up the milestone in the meeting at Headingley from Thursday.
Lyth, who has 11,841 runs across a first-class career which began in May 2007 and has featured seven England Test caps, will be hoping to help the White Rose see off the Red and leapfrog them in the league standings - Yorkshire go into the tie in fourth, Lancashire a place above.

"Two hundred games, it's a nice milestone to reach - and against Lancs makes it even more special," he told local media in Yorkshire.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d play 200 games. It's a proud moment for me and my family, and hopefully there's many more to come."

Of the 16 other counties, the 34-year-old only has better averages against Glamorgan (78) and Leicestershire (266), albeit with considerably smaller sample sizes.
"I don't think I play any differently against them to any other team, or raise my game. But I have done well against them in the past," he said. "Hopefully that can continue.
"I just love the game and love competing.
"We have a fantastic set of lads here, and I want to keep playing as long as I can. Hopefully there's many more milestones to come."
