Yuzvendra Chahal has joined Kent for the remainder of the County Championship season.

The India spinner will be available for their final two home matches, against Nottinghamshire and Lancashire, and an away trip to Somerset.

Though predominantly a white-ball player, Chahal has played 33 first-class matches, taking 87 wickets at 35.25.

On joining Kent, he said: "This is an exciting challenge for me, playing in English county cricket, and one I'm very much looking forward to."

Director of cricket, Paul Downton, added: "We're delighted to have secured a spinner of Yuzvendra's quality for the last three Championship matches of the season, with Matt Parkinson not available to us until next year, and Hami Qadri recently injured.

"He is really looking forward to playing in English conditions and will bring a significant amount of skill and international experience to our squad."

Kent are currently fighting for survival in Division One, currently sitting ninth in the table, with two wins from 11 matches and 81 points.
