Nottinghamshire currently sit seventh in Division One of the County Championship and will be hoping Young can bolster their batting after they were bowled out for 186 and 92 by Somerset last time out.

Head coach, Peter Moores, said: "It is great to add a player of Will's quality to our batting lineup and his experience as an international top three batter will add stability to our lineup.

"We are all aware of the importance of the next three fixtures starting against the champions at the Oval.

"Will's previous experience in the Championship means that he knows what to expect, and he has shown that his game is suited to being successful in English conditions.

"He comes with strong recommendations both as a player and as a bloke, so we're very excited to have him with us for the next few weeks."
