Nic Maddinson's bat failed the test during Durham's County Championship clash with Derbyshire
Durham have been docked 10 points in the LV= Insurance County Championship following a failed bat-gauge test.
Overseas signing Nic Maddinson used a bat which failed the test during Durham's County Championship clash with Derbyshire on September 6, 2022.
Maddinson admitted breaching ECB Directives 3.2 and 3.3 but both he and Durham said the offence was committed unintentionally. Players are, however, responsible for ensuring their equipment conforms to the laws of the game.

The Cricket Discipline Commission accepted this mitigation and imposed an immediate 10-point deduction. Neither the club nor Maddinson will face any further sanctions.
The news comes on the same day Durham finished their 2022 campaign with a crushing 462-run defeat at the hands of Nottinghamshire.
Following the points deduction, Durham will end the season in sixth position in Division Two, with 174 points (three wins, eight draws, three defeats).
