Fixture: Glamorgan v Yorkshire
Venue: The Swalec Stadium, Cardiff
Dates: Thursday, May 13, 2021 - Sunday, May 16, 2021
Start time: 11am
What's the lowdown?
Yorkshire have been in fine form this season. With three wins and two draws under their belt they remain unbeaten. They sit comfortably in second with an 18-point lead over third-place Northamptonshire, knowing that a victory will take them clear at the top, with Lancashire not featuring in this round of fixtures.
So far, Glamorgan have oscillated throughout their campaign, showing signs of brilliance but ultimately struggling to turn those shining moments into results. They sit in fourth place ahead of a key opportunity to close the gap.
Who's in form?
Adam Lyth is pounding out the runs this season with 538 at 67.25 and remains as consistent a performer as any in first-class cricket.
Kiran Carlson will want to continue his newfound, unwavering devotion to cricket with more runs as he looks to follow up his twin centuries against Sussex with another strong outing here.
In the battle of the ageing seamers, it will fall to Michael Hogan and Steven Patterson to lead the line. Though both have taken 18 wickets apiece, Hogan boasts a marginally better average of 19.05 to Patterson’s 19.50.
Glamorgan have also been boosted by the addition of the No.3 ranked Test batter Marnus Labuschagne, who is yet to fire, and Australian all-rounder Michael Neser.

Who's said what?
Callum Taylor is relishing the opportunity of facing high-calibre international players, ahead of coming up against England captain Joe Root this week at the Swalec Stadium.
"We’ve gone up against some top quality players so far in the County Championship and last week we faced James Anderson," the Glamorgan allrounder told the South Wales Argus.
"To play one of the best in the world is a fantastic experience for us and it was a fun contest, one that I had been looking forward to.
"It can go one of two ways against the best bowlers out there, you can either relish the challenge or be a bit scared of it, but as a team we are definitely relishing it."
After falling agonisingly short of centuries against Sussex (74) and Kent (96), Gary Ballance hopes to put aside a frustrating last 12 months and make it third time lucky in Cardiff.
“I am still a perfectionist and strive to get better all time. But I have felt more at ease over the last month or so,” said Ballance, who is without a red-ball century since July 2019.
“I’ve really enjoyed it, and feeling better in myself makes a massive difference when I’m playing.
“I’ve enjoyed playing and being around the lads. Hopefully, that will continue for some time.”
What's the weather forecast?
