The Cricketer wraps up the best of the action during day four of round three of the Vitality County Championship in 2024
Derby (day four of four): Leicestershire 574-7d, Derbyshire 167 & 224-6 - match drawn
Leicestershire head coach Alfonso Thomas gave his team a pat on the back after rain denied them the chance to push for victory on the final day of the Vitality County Championship match against Derbyshire.
The visitors were favourites with Derbyshire still 183 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat on 224 for 6 but heavy rain throughout the morning left large pools of surface water on the County Ground outfield.
After lunch was taken early at 12.30, the umpires inspected and the inevitable decision to call the game off was announced shortly after leaving Leicestershire with 16 points and Derbyshire nine from the draw.

Northampton (day four of four): Glamorgan 271 & 104-3, Northamptonshire 605-6d - match drawn
Northamptonshire's hopes of pressing home their sizeable advantage to complete victory against Glamorgan were dashed by the weather on the final day of this County Championship match at Wantage Road.
Northamptonshire needed to take seven wickets today after reducing Glamorgan to 104 for 3 last night, the visitors still trailing by 230 runs. The Steelbacks had posted a mammoth 605 for 6 in their first innings before declaring.
But heavy overnight rain and constant drizzle throughout the morning prevented play from resuming and umpires Sue Redfern and Graham Lloyd finally called the game off shortly after 4pm.

Hove (day three of four): Gloucestershire 417 & 205, Sussex 479 & 144-6 - Sussex won by four wickets
Sussex overcame stubborn Gloucestershire resistance to squeeze home by four wickets at Hove and go top of Division Two of the County Championship.
Chasing 144 to win in 49 overs, they still needed 29 when left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar picked up his fifth wicket but the nerveless Cheteshwar Pujara guided Sussex to victory with an unbeaten 44.
Miles Hammond (77) and Gohar (52) had given Gloucestershire hope with a seventh-wicket stand of 87, batting through the morning session to lodge their second half-centuries of the match.
Hammond became one of two victims in three balls for off-spinner Jack Carson and Jayden Seales finished the innings with wickets from successive deliveries as Gloucestershire were dismissed for 205.
