The Nickel 4.1 is part of the 2025 range for Kookaburra, one of the most iconic bat brands in cricket.
It proved to be a popular bat; one student tester went as far as to say that they "loved" the bat.
The middle drew compliments from the testers, particularly compared to the performances of the rest of the bat.
In terms of performance, two of our testers commented on how "lightweight" the Nickel was in terms of pick-up and feel. Surrey's new women's captain, Bryony Smith explained that the profile is "not too bottom-heavy."
Importantly, the weight of the bat related well to ball striking and meant that it was "natural in my swing" for one of the testers.
Smith was very complimentary of the bat's appearance, praising "really nice basic stickers."
The white and grey, normally associated with the Ghost, a Kookaburra classic, is perfect for traditionalists and offers a classic and clean look.
Other than how it comes off the bat away from the middle, there were very few negatives for our testers. Instead, it actually outperformed expectations, with one tester remarking: "It feels better than I expected it to be."
