The Pakistan youngster joins an overseas contingent that includes England duo Sam Billings and Alex Hales
Muhammad Hasnain has joined Sydney Thunder for a maiden spell in the Big Bash League.
The 21-year-old, who has played eight one-day internationals and 18 T20Is for Pakistan, joins four games into the campaign.
He is added to an overseas contingent that includes England pair Sam Billings and Alex Hales.
Hasnain made his international debut in 2019 and was part of the squad at the 50-over World Cup in England.
Later that year, he became the youngest bowler to take a T20 hat-trick for Pakistan, removing Sri Lanka trio Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka and Shehan Jayasuriya off successive deliveries.
His franchise experience extends to spells in the PSL with Quetta Gladiators and in the CPL with Trinbago Knight Riders. In 70 T20s, he has 85 wickets with an economy rate of 8.59.
"He’s a fast bowler who bowls with extreme pace and has fantastic T20 skills and variations," Cricket New South Wales head of male cricket Michael Klinger said.
"At such a young age he’s already taken a T20I hat-trick for Pakistan, and he’s performed well for Quetta in the Pakistan Super League."
