Peter Siddle has re-signed for Adelaide Strikers ahead of the 2022/23 Big Bash.

The 38-year-old pace bowler, who represented Melbourne Renegades earlier in his career, has taken 90 wickets in 68 BBL appearances and boasts a tournament economy of 7.41.

Eighty-five of those wickets have come in 61 outings for the Strikers and despite his advancing years, Siddle remains one of the outstanding bowlers in the Big Bash. In BBL11, he collected 30 wickets while maintaining an economy of 8.33 and has taken 68 wickets across the past three seasons.

Over the course of his career, Siddle has taken 125 wickets in 101 T20 appearances, including featuring twice for Australia in T20Is and enjoying stints in the T20 Blast with Essex and Somerset.

Commenting on committing to the Strikers for another season, Siddle said: "I love the Strikers and playing in front of some of the best fans in the League at the best grounds in the world.

"There have been some nice additions to our squad since last season while keeping the core group together and I am excited for us to build on our finals appearance last season and to see what the group can do together in BBL12."

Head coach, Jason Gillespie, added: "Sidds is a great leader in our side and it's great to have his experience amongst our group, helping to mentor our young fast bowling brigade.

"He has consistently performed at Big Bash level for years and we are looking forward to seeing what he can produce in BBL12."
