Fazalhaq Farooqi has had his contract with Sydney Thunder terminated following a complaint about his behaviour.
The Afghanistan international was signed as a replacement for David Willey and was due to be available for the first nine matches of BBL12.
Ever-present for Thunder, he had impressed with the ball, taking five wickets in four matches and maintaining an economy of 5.81.

Farooqi had also enjoyed a successful year on the international circuit, taking a team-leading 20 T20I wickets for Afghanistan in 2022, including three at the T20 World Cup.
The club received the complaint on December 15 and referred the matter to Cricket Australia's integrity unit. Following an investigation, Thunder opted to cut ties with the player.
"The behaviours displayed by Fazalhaq Farooqi sit outside our values and it was determined that his contract be terminated," said Cricket NSW CEO, Lee Germon.
"Our focus now is providing the necessary support to those affected by this incident."
His replacement is yet to be confirmed.
