Hobart Hurricanes will host Sydney Thunder in match 42 of the 2022/23 Big Bash, the 12th edition of the tournament.
The game is scheduled to start at 1.40pm local time (2.40am GMT) on Sunday, January 15.
The game will be played at the Blundstone Arena in Hobart.
This is a key clash between two playoff contenders potentially fighting over just one place in the top five.
Thunder sit fifth in the table with 10 points from as many games, two ahead of Hurricanes who are sixth with eight from nine.
Both sides have lost two of their last three but it is Hurricanes who come into the game off the back of a victory, beating Melbourne Stars by two wickets.
The sides met on New Year's Eve and it was Thunder who secured an overwhelming victory by 62 runs, after amassing 228 for 6 batting first.

Tim David has displayed flashes of the brilliance at the death that saw him shoot to fame during the 2020-21 Big Bash.
His 186 tournament runs have come at 31, but it is a strike rate of 155 that sets him apart from his rivals in the closing overs.
In an effort to quell his wicket ball striking, Thunder like to keep their opponents guessing at the death, deploying Nathan McAndrew, Usman Qadir and Daniel Sams.
But there might also be a temptation for Chris Green to hold himself back, having returned an economy rate of seven across the two occasions he's bowled between overs 16 and 20 in this season's BBL.
A little overcast, with highs of around 20 degrees Celsius during play. It should stay dry.
Thunder have named a 14-strong squad for the match. David Warner's comeback is set to continue while Joel Davies, Baxter Holt and Ross Pawson and hoping to break into the XI.
