Adelaide Strikers host Sydney Sixers in match two of the 2022/23 Big Bash, the 12th edition of the tournament.
The game is scheduled to start at 6.45pm local time (8.15am GMT) on Wednesday, December 14.
The game will be played in Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval.
Hayden Kerr, the strong allrounder for Sydney Sixers, might be the tournament's star if he can replicate his form from last season. He excels here with both the bat and the ball.
James Vince and Dan Christian are the other two players to watch for the Sixers. Vince can be very challenging to stop once he gets going at the top of the order and has previously enjoyed success in the Big Bash as well as steering Hampshire to T20 Blast glory earlier this year. Christian, meanwhile, is a proven game-changer with bat and ball.
Adelaide Strikers have a strong bowling group, with Wes Agar, Rashid Khan, and Peter Siddle at their disposal. They will be counting on Rashid in particular for a strong performance with the ball, but he should't be discounted with the bat - against Australia in the T20 World Cup at this very venue, he smashed 48 balls off just 23 balls.
Colin de Grandhomme will add strength with bat and ball - he is an excellent swing bowler and a powerful hitter - while Chris Lynn, the all-time leading run-scorer in the Big Bash, is known for being a match-winner. Like Vince, he shone in the T20 Blast, scoring two centuries and four half-centuries for Northants.

The best team in the tournament belongs to the Sixers, who are brimming with strength. Since it is difficult to identify a drawback, they are the top choice.
While the Sixers have players like Christian, Josh Philippe, and Moises Henriques among others, the Strikers have players like de Grandhomme, Rashid, and Lynn at their disposal. The calibre of both clubs should make for an exciting match.
There won't be any chance of rain and temperatures are expected to peak around 19 degrees Celsius.
Steve Smith and Nathan Lyon are absent for Sydney Sixers due to their Test commitments but Izharulhaq Naveed and Kurtis Patterson are both in line for debuts. Josh Kann has been added to the squad as a local replacement player.
Cameron Boyce will be unavailable for the Strikers after suffering a calf injury. Chris Lynn could make his Strikers debut.

Adelaide strikers are available at 6/5 while Sydney Sixers are at 4/6.
It makes sense that there is a lot of buzz surrounding Adelaide Strikers this season. Expect pyrotechnics at the top of the order since Lynn has a lot to prove, and the hosts will have plenty of bowling options with to the experience of Rashid, Siddle, and Agar.
However, the Sydney Sixers are a very strong team with a standout bowling attack of their own, and if they were to lose early wickets, their middle order's experience should help them recover. Despite this, Adelaide Strikers appear to have what it takes to compete successfully in the BBL this season, and with home field advantage on their side, betting on them to win this game is definitely worth thinking about.
