The main takeaway from 10 minutes with the DSC XLite 2.0 was, for all our testers, a very generous middle and the consistency of contact right the way down the bat.
"It doesn't quite spring off as nicely as some others," said one student, "but it's a good weight and a lovely handle. Overall, it's really nice – and I like the colours."
Another added: "I love the design of the handle, with the pastel colours; the wood looks quality on the whole, and the middle gives you more than half a chance!"
A couple of years ago, the DSC wasn't so well known to British audiences, but Rory Burns adopted it during the 2019 Ashes, and Jonny Bairstow has since taken it under his wing.
With not dissimilar stickers to the DKP – simplicity is key – it's all about the performance. An Indian brand, DSC actually stands for Delux Sports Company; you wouldn't quite go as far as to call this a deluxe bat, but it's certainly not far off. You could do far worse than to join Bairstow in their stable.
