The Bangladesh Cricket Board want to add Abdul Razzak to their selection panel.

A veteran of 200 international appearances, the 37-year-old has been offered a role with the group despite still playing professionally.

He represented Khulna Division, South Zone and Mohammedan Sporting Club this season before all cricket was shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"Yes, I had talked with them," he told Samakal. "I have taken some time to evaluate my situation.

"I wanted to give my final decision after the end of premier league but now the DPL has also suspended. Now I will think about this matter.

"I have to leave cricket for the news jobs. It is not an easy decision. One has to take time to decide about any decision so that he has no regrets.

BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan has confirmed an approach has been made but admits Razzak's ongoing cricket career could prove problematic.

"I have told Habibul Bashar to give Razzak our proposal. Razzak is taking time as he is playing in the league. He may want to play longer as well."

Shahriar Nafees and Manzurul Islam are also under consideration for a position.

Razzak played 13 Tests, 152 one-day internationals and 34 T20Is for Bangladesh.

In 2018, he was recalled for what would be his final outing for his country against Sri Lanka in Dhaka, after four years out of the frame.

He claimed 279 wickets across all formats and represented Bangladesh at the 2007 and 2011 World Cups.
