The Yorkshireman was removed after being bowled by Nathan Lyon for 32 during a helter-skelter afternoon at Edgbaston
Harry Brook was the victim of a stroke of bad luck during England's first innings in the opening Ashes Test against Australia at Edgbaston.
The Yorkshireman had navigated his way to 32 not out on his Ashes debut thanks to some typically enterprising batting after lunch.
Brook has been one of the key figures of England's aggressive approach with the bat under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum.

But his fun ended in the 38th over at the hands of Australia spinner Nathan Lyon.
A ball which spun and bounced saw Brook hit it into his thigh, and see it loop up into the air. Wickekeeper Alex Carey and close fielders David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne all momentarily lost the ball in the air as Brook shouldered arms, thinking the danger had passed.
But when it dropped out of the sky the ball landed in a foothole and onto the stumps, which the England middle-order batter had left unattended.

It sparked jubilant scenes among the tourists, who had been gifted a wicket by a moment of good fortune.
Commentating for UK broadcasters Sky Sports on the dismissal, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said: "I've seen most forms of dismissal, but not many like this."
