England are not calling up a replacement to their squad, which means Dan Lawrence is all but certain to come into the home lineup at Headingley on Thursday
England vice-captain Ollie Pope has been ruled out for the remainder of the summer after dislocating his right shoulder in the second Ashes Test at Lord's.
The Surrey batter, 25, was only officially named as Ben Stokes' deputy ahead of the Ireland Test.
He banged his shoulder while diving in the field on the first day of the Test, with a substitute fielder replacing him thereafter.
But he then looked to have worsened the issue in Australia's second innings on day three when diving at mid-on.
Pope, who has previously dislocated his left shoulder in England colours, batted at No.3 in both innings but will now sit out the last three Tests after scans revealed the extent of the injury, with England needing to win all three in order to regain the Ashes.

They have confirmed that they will not be calling up a replacement, which means that Dan Lawrence – already the reserve batter in the squad – is all but certain to make his Test return at Headingley, having not featured since the Caribbean series that directly preceded Stokes' appointment as Joe Root's successor as captain.
Pope is set to undergo surgery, before working with the medical teams at Surrey and England through his rehabilitation.
