Rashid Khan and Co were due to play five 50-over games in the country in preparation for the upcoming World Cup but the trip has been abandoned over broadcasting costs
Afghanistan's proposed ODI series in Zimbabwe has been called off.
Rashid Khan and Co were due to play five 50-over games in the country next month in preparation for the upcoming World Cup but the trip has been canned over broadcasting costs.
Afghanistan insisted that all the matches were shown on live TV but Zimbabwe Cricket were unable to meet the demands and the tour is now off.
"Although the two boards had agreed to share the tour expenses, the prohibitive costs of broadcasting the matches live on television - which the ACB was insisting on - unfortunately derailed the proposed series," a Zimbabwe Cricket statement read.
Afghanistan's remaining warm-ups for the World Cup include games against England, Scotland, Ireland and Pakistan.
