The Abu Dhabi T10 will return in 2021, organisers have confirmed.

It was hoped the eight-team tournament would take place between November 19-28, 2020.

However, with the Indian Premier League being delayed - with final is scheduled for November 10 - and moved to the United Arab Emirates the decision has been taken to push the competition back.

The 29-match event will now take place between January 28 and February 6, preceded by a draft to determine the squads.

Last season, the third edition of the T10 League, saw the likes of Lasith Malinga, Eoin Morgan, Hashim Amla and Shahid Afridi take part.

Aref Al Awani, general secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council said: "T10 is fast, punchy, exciting cricket that engages fans of the sport like few other tournaments, so we are naturally thrilled to see the 2020 tournament going ahead early next year.

"As people saw from the level of support the tournament delivered in its inaugural year, Abu Dhabi is a committed sporting destination.

"The Abu Dhabi T10 has already well and truly confirmed itself within the top tier of the emirate’s sports portfolio."
