The England and Essex batter fills the void left by the former England captain
Dan Lawrence will captain London Spirit in the men's Hundred following the retirement of Eoin Morgan.
Morgan led Spirit in the first two editions of the tournament, finishing bottom in its inaugural year before improving in 2022 to finish third, only to be beaten in the eliminator by Manchester Originals.
The former England captain, who was reunited with 2019 World Cup-winning head coach Trevor Bayliss following the passing of Shane Warne, announced his retirement from professional cricket in February.
"It's a real honour to be asked to captain this side," said Essex batter Lawrence.

"Following on from England's greatest white-ball captain is a huge challenge, but one I'm really excited to be taking on. We've got a talented group of players coming back this season, and it's a great chance to build on last year's strong performance.
"I can't wait to lead the team out in front of a packed ground at Lord's."
Lawrence scored 129 runs in seven matches in the 2022 competition, having originally been selected by Spirit as their local icon player. He was retained ahead of this season in the £75,000 price bracket; he was one of 11 players kept on by London.
