What’s the lowdown?

After slipping to an unexpected eight-wicket defeat against Worcestershire Rapids in round three, Lightning returned to winning ways against Derbyshire on Tuesday night. Alex Davies was the hero in Derby, scoring 83 from 54 balls to help his side chase down their target (197) with 10 balls and seven wickets remaining. Lancashire have now won three of their four matches in the 2021 T20 Blast.

Durham also started their season with two wins - defeating Yorkshire by 20 runs and Leicestershire by two wickets - before coming unstuck against Notts Outlaws and Alex Hales. The former England opener scored a punishing unbeaten 96 (54 balls) to propel his side to 195 for 5 and despite the best efforts of openers David Bedingham (65 off 42) and Graham Clark (39 off 19), and tailender Liam Trevaskis (17 off 6), Durham finished 14 runs shy of victory.

Who’s in form?

Ben Raine was the only Durham bowler to not take a pummelling against Notts, conceding just two boundaries on his way to 2 for 29. The 29-year-old has taken seven wickets in three matches and has an economy of 5.9 - a figure made even more impressive when you consider he's bowled against Notts and Yorkshire.

Bedingham is the club's leading run-scorer with 114 runs at a strike rate of 167.64 while Brydon Carse (77 runs) and Trevaskis (56) have chipped in with some handy lower-order runs.

Having scored just seven runs in his previous three matches, Lancashire will be overjoyed with Alex Davies' return to form against Derbyshire. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been the club's leading T20 run-scorer for each of the past three seasons and now has 12 half-centuries in past 39 innings.

Liam Livingstone, however, is proving himself to be Mr. Consistent with the bat, chipping in with 45 runs against Derbyshire to his total for the season to 189 (oh, and he's taken two wickets and bowled with an economy of 6.87). With the ball, Matt Parkinson continues to lead the way for the Red Rose, taking seven wickets in four matches.

What’s the team news?

Durham squad: Cameron Bancroft, David Bedingham, Scott Borthwick, Jack Burnham, Brydon Carse, Graham Clark, Paul Coughlin, Sean Dickson, Ned Eckersley, Matty Potts, Ben Raine, Matt Salisbury, Liam Trevaskis.
