What's the match?

St Lucia Kings take on Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2022 Caribbean Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to take place at 7pm local time (GMT-5) on Saturday, September 10.

Where is the match being played?

This game is due to be staged at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia.

Who's got the form?

Well, neither in reality. Between the two teams, they have mustered a single win in seven games. Guyana Amazon Warriors' only point so far has come in a washout, though that ought to have changed on Thursday.

In the driving seat heading into the penultimate over of their clash with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Shimron Hetmyer's side contrived to lose despite having 38 runs to defend in 12 balls. With 22 needed off the final over, Dwaine Pretorius smashed Romario Shepherd for three successive sixes in a remarkable late flurry. Earlier Hetmyer and Chandrapaul Hemraj had each made 40s, but both were in vain.

Kings, meanwhile, got off the mark by chasing down 164 to inch past Jamaica Tallawahs in a thriller. They found themselsves 39 for 4 and 75 for 5, but largely thanks to Johnson Charles' 64 and lower-order cameos from Tim David, Roshon Primus and David Wiese, they crept over the line with two balls remaining. More recently, however, they have been on the wrong end of a similar game, with Barbados Royals easing to a chase of 170.

What's the match-up to watch?

It will be fascinating to see how Guyana recover from the shock of their last-gasp defeat and who, if the situation arises once again, Hetmyer turns to at the death. He seemed set on Odean Smith bowling the final over, before handing the ball to Shepherd, so one wonders which way he will go next time.

Otherwise, on surfaces becoming increasingly used and spin-friendly, the treatment of Guyana's spinners will be worth watching, with Imran Tahir, Gudakesh Motie and Tabraiz Shamsi all involved. Faf du Plessis, who captained both Shamsi and Tahir at international level, will be key here.

What's the news from the camps?

For St Lucia, Jeavor Royal could return after being replaced by Mark Deyal for the defeat by Barbados Royals. Niroshan Dickwella made his debut for the franchise on Thursday after arriving from the Asia Cup.
