GEORGE DOBELL: Shaw, who has represented India in all three formats of the game, is likely to play three or four Championship and several One-day Cup games for Northants subject to receiving a No Objection Certificate.
Northants are set to sign Indian batter Prithvi Shaw as an overseas player.

Shaw averages in excess of 50 in both List A and first-class cricket and has represented India in all three formats.

The signing would be something of a coup for Northants. The club are currently bottom of Division One in the Championship and have picked up just one batting bonus point this season.
The addition of Shaw, who is expected to open, should be a considerable boost.
It's also reflection of the BCCI's increasingly open-minded attitude towards their players gaining experience elsewhere. While Shaw has not represented India in Test cricket since 2020, he will hope his experience of playing in county cricket will enhance his chances of a recall when India return to England in 2025.
His exact arrival date remains uncertain. He is currently committed to playing in the semi-final of the Duleep Trophy for West Zone.
